Queens, New York City Birth Certificate Processing Apostille: Version, Certification Chain and Shipping Inspection

“Born in Queens County” does not equal issuance in Queens County

Birth certificates in the five boroughs of New York City are generally issued by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. When determining the path, look at the issuing authority on the certificate and do not assume it was issued by the Queens County Clerk just because the place of birth says Queens.

Apply for a version suitable for overseas use first
